Thanks I will read the book. . I think people are better off investing in generic custodial accounts over 529s. Once my kids are 18 (15yrs from now) who knows what the world will look like. I want them to be able to pursue anything, and I'm totally ok with them missing the college experience.

That seems increasingly prudent. What do you think of how the 529s are becoming more and more flexible in how they can be used?
