Patricia Levesque, CEO of ExcelinEd, and Ben DeGrow, Senior Policy Director of Education Choice at ExcelinEd, join me to delve into the evolving landscape of educational choice.
Our educational nonprofit, K-12 Life Skills, is developing a local community resource concept, SIEB Educational Centers, that operate as a "Private Family Office" model for educational advisory and counseling for lower- and middle-class families.
Parents/guardians need K-12 child development education, assessment and counseling guidance, educational and financial planning, and outcome measurement. This no different from the wealth management industry targeting high-net-worth families.
Once again your guest conversations do not include representation from the private business sector. Only education and government. Why?
Love that you are offering these services!! Will be increasingly useful.
Who would you recommend from the business sector I interview? I've agreed with your push on this; my interviews though are scheduled several months out.
I am currently working to complete a book manuscript called "Memo to a Little Guy on his Entering Big World - NOTES ON NEXT STAGE K-12 YOUTH DEVELOPMENT". May I email you the Table of Contents, Preface and Introduction? You, your education colleagues, and publications are sourced throughout the manuscript. I've read all your books, some taking longer than others, as well as many your guests' publications over the past six years since forming our educational nonprofit.
Following your read and hopefully a conversation, I would ask that you consider me as a resource for the business sector and based on your direction, work to provide you with ongoing recommendations and important guests from the private sector.
In my book, I have a chapter devoted to Local Community Partnerships (Households, Schools, Community Organizations, Faith-Based Institutions, Major Employers and the Small Business Sector. I am recommending a progressive "Educational Workshop" model targeting Parents/Guardians and their Elementary, Middle School, and High School children. The workshop model focuses on a well-rounded "K-12 Educational Experience" in three areas - Core Academic Achievement, Life Skills Mastery, and Real-World Educational Experiences.
My singular goal is to launch a "SIEB Educational Center" prototype with a nonprofit affiliate-based scaling model. I will be retiring after 35 years as a very successful small-business owner in 2026. My wife and I have lived in Phoenix for the past 30-years, done very well, and are currently building a home at McLemore on Lookout Mountain in northwest Georgia. Hopefully, this will be my legacy!
Look forward sharing information with you and connecting if there's an interest!
