Excellent discussion about the changes in K-12 right now. COVID awakened parents to the fact that there are systemic problems in the system that have been brewing for a long time. In my current book (hope to publish around January), I examine these issues and potential reformations. In addition to other areas, I have tagged flexibility and personalized learning as two critical needs as you noted above.

However, one of the most important needs I've focused on is shedding the one-size-fits-all mindset that has plagued our schools for so long. This lowest-common-denominator structure holds back those who could do much better, punishing them through equalization. Our best-and-brightest are discouraged from truly excelling. The growth of alternative educational forms is encouraging, but it is not the entire answer. Thanks!
