I learn so much from the people you bring in, not so much solutionally which is what everyone wants so as to ease their brain but questionably as to what, with the students future in mind, is the purpose of school. Job to Be Done.

There is so much talk about creating self directed learners but not much on what is the big difference between "taught to" and "led to". This is at the crux of creating educated consumers so they can make knowledgeable choices instead of relying on another professional to make that decision for them. The model for allowing others to decide for us can be found in the 1939 book "The Saber Tooth Curriculum", by J. Abner Peddiwell

On leaning and children's natural propensity to do so I am gaining a ton from Seymour Papert, founder of the MIT AI Lab in his 1980s book "Mindstorms". In order to understand learning we really need to look at the beginning as to how it starts in children instead of the end result we desire.

This brings me to another book I read years ago before reading "Disrupting Class'', "Reverse Innovation" by Govindarajan and Timble. I think there are some good tips in it as to how we foster the innovation we need that Homeschooling and Micro schools are offering some solution but the process keeps leaning towards building to scale another institution.

Thank you for your moving this conversation forward.
