It’s here! From Reopen to Reinvent is now out in the wild, and you can buy your own copy from Amazon (online here), Barnes & Noble (online here), IndieBound (online here), and other locations where you buy your books.
Its purpose is to push us past being pleased (or relieved) that schools have reopened to rethinking what school does for each and every child and for parents—and to help map a path forward to getting there for school leaders.
I’d love you to buy a copy, and then I’d love you to review it from wherever you bought it.
I always have some trepidation when a new book of mine is released, so I’ll be curious what you think. Does the writing gives educators and parents a window into transforming schooling to the benefit of all students, especially their own? Although I no longer have control over these questions, I, and others, can learn from the reviews and continue to make advances for students.
I’m also offering some book-related schwag!
If you go to the From Reopen to Reinvent website page here, you can download a free From Reopen to Reinvent bookmark, which has QR Codes that link to all 29 of the illustrative videos used in the book. The videos feature a variety of K–12 schools and colleges and universities, including Santa Rita Elementary School in Los Altos, Calif., Cleveland’s learning pods, MyTechHigh, Lindsay Unified School District in Calif., and the Iron County School District in Utah.
What’s more, if you want to learn more about what’s in the book, Education Week published this oped titled “Schools Can Do More Than ‘Return to Normal.’ Here’s How,” which details some of the up-front advice in the book to help educators innovate despite all the pressures and urgent items on their plates.
Thank you all again for your support and ideas over the past few years of the pandemic. I’m hopeful that this book will help educators, parents, community members, and more as we seek to build a better education system that allows all students to build their passions and fulfill their human potential.
Awesome work Michael!! Can't wait to check this one out....
Congratulations!
Hey, any concerns about me posting the QR codes on Twitter? Might stir some interest…
