Multiverse, Apprenticeships, and the Future of Work
Multiverse, a UK-based company, has turned heads as it has modernized apprenticeships and learning to help place individuals into the workforce. With its rapid growth and emergence in the United States, in this conversation with Elisabeth Barrett, vice president for learning, we discussed more about what they are doing and their visions for the future of learning and work. Michael Horn: I'm excited by today's conversation with a classmate of mine, actually, from college, who is leading the learning opportunities at Multiverse, which describes themselves as “we're building an outstanding alternative to college and corporate training via professional apprenticeships.” There's a lot to unpack, I think, in that mission statement. I'm going to do my best to ask questions about that and try to unpack all that it means and all the promise in its approach with one of the most exciting companies and bring up Elisabeth Barrett from Multiverse. Horn: Let's dive in at the top level. Exactly what is Multiverse and why is it different? What you're facilitating from say, if you will, the old line, "Your dad's apprenticeship"?
